Man City sign Olympic Gold champion & FIFA Best player of the year, Carli Lloyd [Photos]

Man City football club of England Thursday signed World Cup winner, 2 Times FIFA Women’s Player of the Year and double Olympic Gold Champion, Carli Lloyd into the women's football squad.
The USA football legend, 34, and captain, who has won the World Cup and two Olympic gold medals joins Man City in a deal which will see her play in the Women’s Super League for the duration of the 2017 Spring Series which ends in May.
After signing, Lloyd said:
'I’m thrilled to be here and I’m looking forward to starting up and meeting team-mates. This is a unique opportunity and I couldn’t be prouder to be part of the club here in Manchester. I’m looking forward to kicking off.'
'I’m always looking for different challenges. I always want to continue to get better and look for ways where I am going to be able to push my game. Coming here and being part of City is going to do that. It’s an unbelievable opportunity to be able to compete in the Spring Series, the FA Cup and most importantly, the Champions League.'
'I wouldn’t have that opportunity if I didn’t come over here. I’m really looking forward to it – I want to continue to get better and I’m going to be playing with some real world-class players.'

Man City favorites to sign Lionel Messi after he rejects new Barcelona deal


Manchester City lad bitter rivals Man Utd in the race to sign Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi after the player last week rejected Barcelona's new contract offer.

Messi refused Barcelona's offer after seeing that it's not as good as he wanted it to be, compared to the one recently given to his rival Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid. 

Man City have now upped their attempts to sign the very talented forward.
According to the Sun UK, Man U were confident of signing Messi, seeing that he is even an Adidas ambassador as Adidas sponsors the club too, but Man City have strengthened talks with Messi's team to try to sign him if he were to ever consider leaving Barcelona.

The report reads: 'Man United have admitted defeat and believe bitter rivals City would be favorites to sign Lionel Messi if he was to leave Barcelona.

An Old Trafford source said: “City would be the favorites if he were to one day leave, but we would obviously love the sign a player of that level. We can certainly compete on the cash front and Messi is an Adidas player like Paul Pogba, so we have our pluses.''

Manchester City confirm Kelechi Iheanacho is their youngest player ever to score in Manchester Derby

Manchester city football club of England have confirmed that 19 year old striker Kelechi Iheanacho is their youngest player ever to score in the Manchester derby.

Iheanacho scored Man City's second goal in the 2-1 win over Man U on Saturday at Old Trafford and City confirmed the Nigerian has broken the record aged 19 years and 243 days.

In their review of the Premier League clash, City wrote on their official webpage : “Kelechi admitted that he hadn’t expected De Bruyne’s shot to fall to him but he showed none of this surprise when he instinctively clipped the ball past David De Gea.

“In doing so, Iheanacho became the youngest City player to score in a Premier League derby and scored his ninth Premier League strike from his 13th shot on target. ”
