This historic event was made possible by the Confederations Cup’s sponsor McDonald’s, showing that football is open to disabled children and lets them get involved in international competitions.
Leaders of football teams taking part in the Confederations Cup will be escorted by disabled children in each of the host cities, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan and Sochi.

Argentine footballer, Federico Allende confesses to piercing opponent with needle during Cup match [Photo]

There is a funny saying in football that 'when you miss the ball, don't miss the leg,' but the case of Federico Allende, a defender for a lower-division club, Sport Pacifico in Argentina, has gone extremely far.

The defender on Sunday featured in a competition for his team Sport Pacifico against Estudiantes.
They won the match 3-2, knocking out their opponent in a major upset. Allende during the match used a needle to poke Colombian striker Juan Otero several times.
Allende in an interview with Vorterix Radio on Tuesday said "you need to play dirty" to beat big clubs like Estudiantes de La Plata.

The defender who seems very proud of what he did, went on to brag again.
"I kept piercing the Estudiantes strikers with a needle," said the Pacifico defender.
"We know that top division players don't like contact, they don't like if we waste time or if we play dirty. So that was the way to do it. Football is like that. Football is for the clever," Allende said.
Reacting to the shocking revelation, Pacifico's president Hector Moncada vowed to expel the player.
"We are devastated. This incident has tarnished the team's good work. I will expel him from the club," Mr. Moncada told Clarín newspaper.
South American football expert, Tim Vickery told the BBC that Allende had hidden two needles in his shin guards. One broke but, when the referee was at the other end of the field, Allende used the other to poke Colombian striker Juan Otero several times.

It was also reported that Otero complained to the referee during the match but the referee failed to act. Otero simply described Allende as "a nasty man".

Two days after winning the German cup, Borussia Dortmund sacks coach Thomas Tuchel

German Football club, Borussia Dortmund have sacked their cup-winning coach Thomas Tuchel.

The 43-year-old, who succeeded Jurgen Klopp at the club has only just led his team to win the German Cup last weekend, but his tenure has been cut short after reports of a strained relationship with the club’s board.

The official statement from the club reads;

We would like to thank Thomas Tuchel and his coaching staff for the sporting success they have brought to BVB, which reached a deserved climax last Saturday when the club beat Eintracht Frankfurt in the DFB Cup final in Berlin.

We wish Thomas Tuchel nothing but the best for his future professional endeavours.  As an employer, Borussia Dortmund will not comment in detail on the reasons behind the separation, which is the result of a longer process and is supported by all the club committees. For the good of all parties involved, we ask for understanding for our wish that no conclusions be drawn on the basis of rumours or without any background information.

BVB attaches great importance to the fact that the cause of the separation is by no means a disagreement between two persons. The well-being of the club Borussia Dortmund, which is much more than just sporting success, will always be more important than individuals and any differences that may exist between them.
