Newly discovered ’world’s oldest man’,aged 145 says he wants to die

The world's oldest man has been named as an Indonesian who is believed to be a staggering 145-years-old – but who wants to die. 

Mbah Gotho has emerged after documentation recognised by Indonesian officials revealing he was born on December 31, 1870.

He has outlived all 10 of his siblings as well as his four wives, the last of whom died in 1988.

All of his children have also died, and now he is survived by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

That makes him significantly older than the verified oldest person in the world ever, a title that belongs to French woman Jeanne Calment, who lived to be 122.

The super-senior citizen from Sragen, Central Java, was recently interviewed by regional reporters, and he said he has been through it all and would not mind passing on.

"What I want is to die," he said. "My grandchildren are all independent."

Suryanto, Mbah’s grandson, said his grandfather has been preparing for his death ever since he was 122, but it never seemed to come.

He said: "The gravestone there was made in 1992. That was 24 years ago.

His paperwork has so far not been independently verified.If so he will join to others without verifiable records who are purportedly older than Mbah - 171-year-old James Olofintuyi from Nigeria and 163-year-old Dhaqabo Ebba from Ethiopia.

These days, his grandchildren say Mbah mostly sits listening to the radio because his eyesight is too poor to watch television .

For the past three months, he has had to be spoon-fed and bathed as he has become increasingly frail.

When asked what his secret to longevity is, Mbah replied: "The recipe is just patience."

Great-grandmother, 120, claims she is the oldest living person in the World

A great-grandmother has claimed she is the world's oldest living person - after telling officials she has celebrated her 120th birthday.

Pictures have emerged of Tanzilya Bisembeyeva with her family in the village of Alcha in Krasny Yar district in the region of Astrakhan, southern Russia.

The widow is said to have been born in 1896 and, if her claims are true, she beats the current Guinness World Record holder, Italian Emma Morano, by more than three years.

Local media in Astrakhan reports that her family say her secret is: 'She never sits down, doesn't smoke and eats only organic food.

They have said that Bisembeyeva survived the Russian Revolution, World War I, World War II and two husbands.

Russian woman claims to be the oldest in the world aged 120

This weekend we heard the story of the world’s oldest woman, Emma Morano, who at 116 is undeniably doing pretty well in the age stakes.

But crowning her the official oldest may have been premature.

A new contender from Russia claims to be even older – into a whole new decade.

Tanzilya Bisembeeva, from the village of Islamgazy in Russia’s south-western Astrakhan Oblast, says she is 120 years old, and has this documentation to prove it:

According to her ID card, she was born on March 3, 1896 – when Queen Victoria was still on the throne in Britain.

So how has she managed such an impressive innings?

Her family say she had never even been to the doctors until she was 100 years old.

Tanzilya said the ‘secret’ to her longevity is being surrounded by the love and care of her three sons, 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and even two great-great-grandchildren.

Her son Shintas Bisembeev said: ‘She has seen a lot of things in her long life, from Rasputin to Putin.’

Relatives note that Tanzilya had worked for more than 60 years, and now lives on a minimal pension because the people who could prove her work record on paper have all died.

She is said to have given birth to her first child aged 53, and her last when she was 57.

Following Kazakh tradition Tanzilya lives with the family of her youngest son, and is being taken care of by her daughter in law.

The Oldest Person Dies at 116

The world's oldest person has died at the age of 116.Susannah Mushatt Jones, who had been living in a care home in Brooklyn, New York, for more than 30 years, died on Thursday night,Sky News reports..

According to Robert Young, of the Los Angeles-based Gerontology Research Group, which holds a database keeping tabs of the world's longest-living people, ""she had been ill for the past 10 days,  

Ms Jones - who was known as Miss Susie - was born on 7 July 1899 into a family of 11 in a small farm town near Montgomery, Alabama.
