Beyonce’s mum Tina Knowles Lawson has confirmed that her daughter’s album is about “cheating and betrayal”.
The proud mama has watched as the Beyhive swarmed trying to identify ‘Becky with the good hair’ that Beyonce namechecks on the album after they speculated over Jay Z’s alleged cheating.
Speaking to ABC13, Beyonce’s mum touched on the controversial themes featured on the superstar’s latest release.
Miss Tina, as she likes to be known, said: "People make it all about the cheating and betrayal and, yes, that's a part of it because that is something you have to heal from.
She continued: "If you really listen to the poetry it is one of hope and redemption and hopefully that can be healing for people."
Tina did not say that the album was specifically about Beyonce and Jay Z, she did say that everyone can relate to it because they’re likely to have been “betrayed and lied to and it’s about the pain. And it’s about the healing process”.
She continued: “It's about how do you get past that and move on."
Tina, who is now married to Richard Lawson, particularly knows how it feels to have been cheated on after her marriage to Mathew Knowles came to an end in 2011 when he fathered a secret love child.
"I remember my first little pity party and I called them crying and you know, they all came," she said.
