A group of eight, middle-aged, Chinese women with hair measuring 3.5m as a result of a 20-year growth are using it for a good cause. They are touring China as the world's only longhaired act in order to promote HIV awareness.
The group, whose name translates to 'showing long hair across thousands of kilometres,' have visited different provinces to help cast the spotlight on an event promoting awareness of the disease.
The women say that while tending the hair can be tedious sometimes, they aim to promote natural beauty to the world.
Their Rapunzel locks aren't just for beauty purposes, it is a tradition among several ethnic Chinese minorities who see long black hair as a sign of good health. Their women only wash their hair once a month.
