Neighbors forcefully opened the door to find her lifeless body on the floor, her husband had fled locking his two kids in the room with their dead mother.
Last Friday, two days to Mother’s day, Lekan Shonde beat his beautiful pregnant wife, Ronke Bewaji Shonde, to death in their matrimonial home in Lagos.
Mrs. Shonde was a victim of domestic violence for years, her philandering husband is said to have been battering her frequently.
At the time of her death, Ronke was 5 months pregnant. Her husband fled from his house after he beat her to death on that fateful Friday.
After two days on the run, Mr. Shonde contacted his family and disclosed he was safe in his unknown hiding and assured them the police wouldn’t catch him since he knew Lagos in and out.
The lifeless body of Ronke was discovered by neighbors locked in a room with her two kids.
