It might come as little surprise to some (sorry Victoria Beckham ), but the Spice Girl turned fashion designer has revealed producers used to turn her mic off during the band's performances.
The mum-of-four made the slightly embarrassing admission as she spoke at the Vogue 100: A Century of Style exhibition in London on Thursday night.
The 42-year-old said they only wanted to hear her fellow bandmates - Mel B, Mel C, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton - belt out their famous hits.
“They used to turn it off and just let the others sing. I got the last laugh - and now my mic is well and truly on, finally,” she told host Claudia Winkleman, reports The Sun.
She also said that while the others got their clothes for free, it meant she could freely spend the rest of their budget on her signature expensive designer dresses.
“I was always the one that loved fashion and it was quite a result for me because the girls always used to get their clothes for free because they were crap and so there was a lot of budget for me to have my little Gucci dress.”
Victoria then went on to admit that she was always the most serious out of the famous fivesome.
“When all the other girls were being fun and spontaneous and jumping on tables, I was always the one checking the table wasn’t going to collapse. I was always the sensible one.
Luckily because I used to wear heels, I just used to jig about a bit and I got away with it but it never came easily. I was always much more reserved than the other girls.”
Meanwhile, one of her dates for the night - Brooklyn Beckham - took to social media to say how proud he was of his mum.
The aspiring photographer uploaded a sweet photo of him and Victoria sharing a hug following the event.
A scruffy-haired Brooklyn was looking as cool as ever in a polka dot shirt and jacket as Victoria gazed adoringly at him.
In the background a vintage image of Victoria, who was pregnant with Brooklyn at the time, and hubby David lying on the floor can be seen.
"So proud listening to my mum speak tonight @nationalportraitgallery @britishvogue #Vogue100 love this Juergen Teller shot!@victoriabeckham@davidbeckham," Brooklyn wrote.
The mum-of-four also posted the same image and thanked everyone who came out to support her.
"Thank u to everyone who came to hear me speak tonight @nationalportraitgallery @Britishvogue#Vogue100 X .
"This Juergen Teller shot of myself and David brings back memories!! I was pregnant with Brooklyn!!! I love u @brooklynbeckham @davidbeckham X VB.”
