Both the Ugandan army and police were at Entebbe International Airport waiting for Kenya Airways plane to touch down. Reports indicate that President Museveni’s arch political rival, was the reason why Ugandan security forces were at Entebbe International Airport.
Besigye, who was returning to Uganda after a six-week overseas trip in US and UK, was bundled out of KQ’s plane like a common criminal and whisked to the nearby Old Entebbe Airport terminal where he was transferred into a police car.
Journalists who were waiting for Besigye at the airport were also not allowed to cover the unexpected twist of events.
