The
station has been on the spotlight since last night when people took to
social media to accuse it of airing what most view as an offensive
programme, while piling pressure on government to take action against
the station.
The
matter was even raised in Parliament yesterday by nominated MP Amina
Mollel who wanted the House to debate the matter. She said the programme
had broken Tanzania’s morals and ethics by glorifying gayism. Same sex
unions are illegal in the country.
However
the Deputy Speaker Dr Tulia Ackson said the matter would be addressed
by relevant authorities and did not require Parliament intervention.
Deputy
Minister for information Ms Anastazia James Wambura separately told The
Citizen the government would issue a statement later.
