Paul Pogba given permission to have Manchester United medical

Manchester United have confirmed that Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has been given permission to have a medical.
The news means that the summer's biggest transfer is a major step closer to completion ahead of United's opening Premier League game against Bournemouth on August 14.

A statement on the United website - under the hashtag 'Pogback' - read:
"Paul Pogba has been granted permission to have a medical in order to finalise his transfer from Juventus to Manchester United."

Pogba, who will undergo the medical at the club's AON Training Complex, had been on holiday in the United States while his agent Mino Raiola tried to broker the move for the France midfielder.

And on Friday, United boss Jose Mourinho said the club was trying "everything to close the market as quickly as possible".
Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri revealed on Saturday that he had summoned Pogba back to Italy to resume training on Monday.

But the final hurdles in the drawn-out saga appear now to have been jumped, and Pogba will now begin the process of becoming a United player for the second time by undergoing his medical.

Pogba left United in 2012 on a free transfer.

Mourinho has so far signed defender Eric Bailly from Villarreal, midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund and former Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
