The Manchester United man hit the headlines after yet another elbowing incident which this time has seen him banned for three matches
Jamie Carragher has launched a stinging attack on Marouane Fellaini revealing he hopes he NEVER plays in the Premier League again.
The Manchester United star hit the headlines again last weekend after elbowing Leicester's Robert Huth in the face after the German central defender had grabbed him by the hair.
Both men have been slapped with three-match bans by the FA, a move that will see the latter miss the Premier League champion Foxes lift the trophy later on Saturday.
Carragher admits he hated going up against the Belgian in his playing days but doesn't feel either his standard of play or his frequent tangles with the disciplinary committee are befitting of a club such as United.
"He is a menace in the worst possible sense. I don't use that term lightly but he is not a Manchester United player in any shape or form," he wrote in his Daily Mail column.
And in a withering verdict the former Liverpool man goes further insisting such violence on the field of play has no place in the Premier League.
"My personal hope is that we would never see him playing in the Premier League again," he added.
"Three games is not a sentence that will prove a deterrent to Fellaini. He is a repeat offender and it has gone beyond the point now where people can attempt to defend him by saying he is a tall lad who is using his arms for leverage."
United boss Louis van Gaal admitted he was “disappointed” at the ban but conceded Fellaini, who began the season serving a three-match ban for stamping on Hull's Paul McShane in the final game of the previous campaign, must learn to control himself.
The Dutchman said: “We didn't appeal, because I said already that the reaction of Fellaini is like a human being and when the FA gives Huth a suspension of three matches, then they are admitting that it was a penalty, which I have also said after the match
“So for us it is very disappointing the referee has not seen that fact and I still believe that Fellaini makes a reaction like a human being, but he has to control himself better, that is true.
“But when you grab somebody by his hair, always this situation shall exist.”
