Search is on to find ‘Britain’s oldest pitch invader’ who took his Zimmer frame onto the field

The elderly gentleman who took his Zimmer frame onto the field at the final whistle in Sunday’s League Two play-off semi between Plymouth Argyle and Portsmouth has been dubbed ‘Britain’s oldest pitch invader’.
And we absolutely love him. What a hero.
The mystery fan stumbled onto the pitch and waved at the packed crowd despite appearing to be in his eighties.
So far, his identity remains unknown but people have started a campaign on social media for him to come forward.
Onlooker Matthew Hislop, 38, said: ‘We could not believe what we were seeing, but the crowd erupted and loved every second of it. ‘He did not cover the field very quickly, but he was not being stopped. ‘The stewards seemed happy to allow him his moment in the spotlight as the crowd lapped it up. ‘I am just glad the old boy made it across. ‘He must be in his 80s and it is quite a feat at that age. ‘He was obviously a passionate Plymouth fan and was clearly just loving the result and the fact his team were going to Wembley. ‘Good on him I say.’
